The Indonesian Regional Science Association (IRSA) is preparing its Ninth International Conference in Palembang, South Sumatera, on July 31-August 1, 2008, titled “The Current and Future Issues of Regional Development, Energy and Climate Change”. The conference is intended to be a media for scholars, practitioners, and policy-makers to discuss and exchange theoretical and empirical findings on the issues of regional development, energy and climate change with particular emphasis on the aspects of governance, public services provision, natural resource and environmental management, investment and business climate, tourism, trade and informal sector, regional growth, poverty and inequality. It is hoped that through this conference participants will exchange experiences and build strong networks for future research, policy discussion, and practical collaboration. Topics that are not in Indonesian context are welcomed as long as its lessons learned are relevant.
Deadline for abstract/paper submission:

Notification of abstract selected will be on May 22, 2008. Requirements of the abstract:
The abstract should be in English. It should not be more than 1 page long in an A4 paper with upper margin and lower margin no more than 1 inch, typed with 1 line spacing, Times New Roman 12. Please note in your abstract the institution you represent.
